New training course for 2020
Practical help for Mental Health Leads in Schools
With the statutory duty on schools to deliver health and well-being education to all pupils from September 2020 and the new Ofsted framework placing a great deal of emphasis on personal development, the Mental Health Lead will need to train and upskill all staff to enable them to deliver high quality teaching in this area.
Train the Trainer Training
This one day course will enable delegates to use and navigate the Wellbeing Toolkit for Mental Health Leads in Schools and will give them an opportunity to understand how the Toolkit works and how to deliver high quality training to all staff, using the modules, once they are back in their school.
What is The Wellbeing Toolkit for Mental Health Leads in Schools?
The Wellbeing Toolkit is a comprehensive training resource to support the Mental Health Lead in delivering emotional wellbeing in education and social care settings. The Toolkit produced by Dr Tina Rae, Dr Amy Such and Dr Jo Wood contains 20 practical and accessible modules which provide all of the necessary resources to enable you to maintain and enhance the well-being of the children and young people that you nurture and support, while also developing staff confidence and whole-school approaches which will support the wellbeing of the whole school community.
Lorraine who has been delivering SEND and Mental Health training in schools and local authorities for over 15 years states that:
“I believe that this Toolkit will give schools everything they need to deliver high quality social, emotional and wellbeing training to all staff. I have developed this Train the Trainer programme to ensure that all Mental Health Leads feel confident and prepared to be able to deliver the modules in their school.”
Lorraine will deliver at least four of the modules from the Toolkit and offer support and advice on how best to present them back in school.
All delegates receive a FREE copy of the Toolkit worth £120.00 (post publication).
